Who is Jesus?

“I am trying here to prevent anyone saying the really foolish thing that people often say about Him: I’m ready to accept Jesus as a great moral teacher, but I don’t accept his claim to be God. That is the one thing we must not say. A man who was merely a man and said the sort of things Jesus said would not be a great moral teacher. He would either be a lunatic — on the level with the man who says he is a poached egg — or else he would be the Devil of Hell. You must make your choice. Either this man was, and is, the Son of God, or else a madman or something worse. You can shut him up for a fool, you can spit at him and kill him as a demon or you can fall at his feet and call him Lord and God, but let us not come with any patronizing nonsense about his being a great human teacher. He has not left that open to us. He did not intend to.”

Welcome friend,

Do you know why people come to Centerpoint church? I would like to think it is because everyone is looking for truth in life and they have found a place that pursues it and preaches it. I'de even settle for a superficial answer like they come because of the accepting people, awesome music, fun kids programs, or even for the fact that they can wear their jeans, tshirts and hats, but I've been humbled to realize, that is not the case. The real reason people come to Centerpoint is to be happy. We are all on a search for happiness. We are looking for it in our entertainment, our careers, our families, in our social circles, everywhere we go and everything we do is an attempt to find happiness. Most of my life I have heard that God is angry with the world, some even say that He hates this world or that he can't wait to send the bad guys to hell. I read a story in the Bible (John chapter 3) about a religious man who came to Jesus at night and asked what he needed to do to have eternal life. In the middle of Jesus' answer he said these words that have forever changed my life...

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.

- John 3:16

Did you get the part about God loving us? Did you read about God sending us the most precious thing in the world to die for us? That's what it means to have salvation (eternal life). It is believing & receiving Jesus as the God of this world and the God of your life. There's a lot more to that message, but it is my hope and prayer that in your search for happiness, you find something far greater and fulfilling, I hope and pray you find a new life in Jesus...I get asked all the time if I believe there is a real hell where people live forever away from God. My simple answer is that I wouldn't have started a church if I thought everybody was going to go to heaven. Maybe you are like that same religious skeptic who came to Jesus one night and asked what he had to do to go to heaven, here is the answer...

Believe that Christ died for your sins, that he was buried and that he was raised back to life (kind of important that the guy who promises to be able to give you eternal life when you die, can come back to life himself, right?) and tell God that you want to receive Jesus Christ as the savior of your soul and begin a new life right now...

Friends, let me go over the Message with you one final time— this Message that I proclaimed and that you made your own; this Message on which you took your stand and by which your life has been saved. (I’m assuming, now, that your belief was the real thing and not a passing fancy, that you’re in this for good and holding fast.)

The first thing I did was place before you what was placed so emphatically before me: that the Messiah died for our sins, exactly as Scripture tells it; that he was buried; that he was raised from death on the third day, again exactly as Scripture says

-1 Corinthians 15:1-4 (The Message Version)

I know it is hard to believe a guy who gets paid to tell you about Jesus. That's why the videos below are here. These are some of the great minds, artists & stories in our world that share different perspectives of what they found when they found Jesus. Take a moment a watch some people a lot like you share their journey and answers to questions that you might have as well. The reason Centerpoint church exists is to bring people back to God, we are honored to be part of your journey...
